Q: Where are Jag Bag liners made?

Jag Bags are made in New Zealand from high quality Chinese silk by skilled and qualified machinists. Jag Bags are produced by a family firm, Jackie Gardiner Batiks Ltd., who highly value their reputation for reliability and excellent quality. The company have been involved in the manufacturing of silk sleeping bag liners for 11 years and is proud that all their products are made in New Zealand by New Zealanders.

Q: What is a Endura silk liner?

It is our coolest liner, made from habotai silk which is slightly denser and heavier than the more normal fine silk we use. Silk naturally wicks moisture and, as the habotai is a little heavier, it wicks more sweat away from your skin than the finer silk.

Q: Why should I use a Jag Bag silk liner?

Using a Jag Bag liner, either Fine or Endura silk, will bring you many benefits on your travels:

      • Use in a sleeping bag for extra warmth - a Jag Bag will add around a season to a bag
      • A liner will keep the inside of your sleeping bag clean
      • In warm climates use the Jag Bag instead of sleeping bag or sheets
      • In the tropics a Jag Bag will help keep you cool at night by wicking moisture away from your body
      • A Jag Bag will help protect you from biting insects
      • In 'budget' hotels, sleep in the bed inside a Jag Bag
Q: Should I choose Endura or Fine Silk?

There's no definitive answer to this. Both Endura and Fine Silk liners are excellent products which will give years of good service if treated properly. As a very rough rule of thumb we'd suggest:
      • Endura - if you're planning extended travel in either tropical or very cold climates
      • Fine - if space or weight are of maximum importance
Whichever grade of silk or style of Jag Bag you use you'll quickly come to appreciate the benefits of using a liner.
